Pop superstar, Rihanna shocked commuters in the UK by taking the Jubilee Line public subway train to the 1st of 10 concerts at London’s O2 Arena.
The singer, who is currently touring Britain with her Loud shows, surprised commuters on Wednesday as she stepped onto an underground subway train to travel through the capital to the concert venue.
The 23-year-old Barbadian chatted with fans and posed for pictures in a crowded carriage
One lucky fan Lisa-Marie O’Keeffe who met Rihanna on the train posted a photo of the singer in the carriage on Twitter along with the words, “I met Rihanna on my way home, told her she was crazy for taking the tube she said ‘Dunno how you guys do it’.”
Rihanna responded to the female fan’s message, writing back, “Word up!!!”
Another fan said Rihanna was so personable and chatty with her on the train while asking her about her 13 year old daughter.
“She had her arm around me and even moved in when I asked her for a photograph. She was so gracious and so nice that I kept telling her how humble she was, not just because she was on the Tube but because of her manner.”
Flanked by security guards, she then came out of the station and jumped into a waiting car which drove her 100 yards to the backstage area of the huge venue.
A spokeswoman for the singer said: “Rihanna decided to get the Tube rather than drive to the first of her 10 sold-out 02 shows”.
SWEET! Last week, a Ireland farmer kicked Rihanna off his land for going topless while filming a video.
