Idris Elba as Luther

Let’s face it. BET has a long list of things they’ve done wrong.  They are a black eye to black tv.  They tried to do something right by bringing THE GAME back. If i said they kind of messed the show up that would be an under-statement. In order for BET to do something right I assumed hell had to freeze over..

Well hell has officially frozen over and the the network wants to make things right with you.  Their most recent move to bring the UK’s “Luther” series lead by actor Idris Elba to it’s American TV Network should be met with nothing but applause.  

A drama starring a Black actor is certainly a rare sight on American television. Idris Elba’s Golden Globe-winning series “Luther”  is a cop show where Luther seems to do whatever he pleases including befriending a woman who murdered her family.. I would tell you more but if you haven’t seen the show I don’t want to ruin it for you..

At 8:30 a.m this Saturday  BET will air an all-day Luther marathon, giving many American Elba fans their first chance to catch the award winning BBC series . 

Elba stars as John Luther, an genius police detective in the Serious Crime Unit  who is dedicated to hunting down Britain’s most deranged criminals.  This Golden Globe-winning role has allowed Elba to portray a complex and brilliant character whose dedicated work often compromises his personal relationships including his marriage to his wife who he loves dearly.

The show is already in it’s 3rd season. There were only six episodes in the first season of the series and four in the next so catching up on the shows won’t take up your whole day, just a substantial part of it. 

For those who can’t wait. Season One is already on NetFlix or you can simply order it on DVD like I did over a year ago…
