A Pittsburgh woman is facing charges after her adult son arrived at a hospital last fall, malnourished and suffering from a burn wound to his hand.
Vonda Brown, 44, of Brighton Heights, is accused of submerging her son’s hand in a hot liquid at their home on California Avenue, leaving him with injuries that required him to remain hospitalized for nearly two months.
The victim is 24, and he has autism and cerebral palsy. Investigators said he weighed only 58 pounds when he was admitted to the hospital.
