Blake Flovin got infected during a wrestling competition last month and now he is fearful his fellow athletes may have could be at risk for contracting herpes too.
Flovin thinks that the upcoming wrestling tournament should be cancelled.
Flovin believes that he may have spread that infection to other wrestlers while he was practicing.
According to San Francisco’s ABC News, he’s calling on officials to postpone the wrestling tournament, scheduled for this weekend, until the incubation period is over.
“They need to be stopped from wrestling or the state tournament needs to be postponed,” Blake Flovin, the high school wrestler, said. “So, just trying to prevent this disease from getting to other people.”
State sports officials say they’ll go ahead with the tournament, but doctors will be on hand. In addition, wrestlers must pass a skin inspection before competing.
