Reports surfaced earlier this week about the Woodlawn High linebackers ( located in Birmingham Ala.) reasoning for not choosing Clemson University to play. Some reports stated when Cassonova Mckinzy took a visit to the Campus, to check out the surroundings and he didn’t like what he saw. It wasn’t the social life, academics, setting, or students. It was the fact that a Chick-Fil –A was no where in sight. That really didn’t rub him the right way. He quoted:
“[It was] kind of the environment and plus they had no Chick-fil-A on campus,”
“You had to go like, probably like 15 minutes off campus to go to like a real restaurant. Their café was kind of small.”
Mckinzy decided to go to Auburn instead. He signed the papers on Wednesday and on Thursday he decided to address the medias misleading interpretation about the Chick-Fil-A statement.
“That’s not the reason I chose Auburn or why I didn’t choose Clemson,” McKinzy said Thursday. “I actually wanted to give Clemson a shot, but it (his decision) didn’t have anything to do with Chick-fil-A.”
“I was just being funny,” McKinzy said. “I gave all the reasons why I chose Auburn.”
“I‘ve always been an Auburn fan,” he said. “I always told myself if they offered me, I would take it.”
“I really tried to,” said McKinzy, “It was just that I’ve been hooked with Auburn for so long, it was hard to just up and change my mind” (only 11 “I’s” were used)
McKinzy also addressed the Clemson students being outraged by his decision
“Clemson is a great place. I didn’t mean it like that. When I went, I actually enjoyed myself. (But) I don’t think it was a place for me to be. I couldn’t picture myself there. It would be great for somebody.” (5 more I’s)
I think McKinzy is a smart man, Hes just trying to get his endorsement deals in check already, Clemson can’t be mad at that.
SIDENOTE FACT: Clemson does have a Chick-FIL-A on Campus
