Charles, and Te’Andrea Wilson , Were Denied Wedding AT Mississippi Church Because of Their Race
It’s 2012, we have the first black President in office, yet people are still being discriminated against, because of race. True the Gays are being denied their “Civil Right” to marry who they please in some states. In these times you would think the racial profiling, and discrimination thing would have STOPPED..
Church is supposed to be a place where the human race rather black, white, mexican, etc. go to worship GOD. It’s a place to bring peace, to get away from the hardships of everyday life. But the First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs in Mississippi has a few too many devils residing as members.
Charles, and Te’Andrea Wilson, a black couple has been attending the predominantly white church, First Baptist although they are not members of the church. They assumed it would be no problem to get married there.
Charles and Te’Andrea had the date set, mailed out the invitations and planned the reception. To their surprise the day before the wedding, they got a rude awakening from the church pastor, Dr. Stan Weatherford
Charles Wilson explained to a reporter the information he received directly from pastor Weatherford, Charles said
“The church congregation had decided no blacks could be married at that church, and that if he went on to marry her, then they would vote him out the church,”
“He [The Pastor] had people in the sanctuary that were pitching a fit about us being a black couple,” said Te’Andrea Wilson. “I didn’t like it at all, because I wasn’t brought up to be racist. I was brought up to love and care for everybody.”
The pastor ensured Charles and Te’Andrea, he wasn’t the problem, and hes questioning the intentions of some of his Church congregation who has created a problem. The pastor explains, not all , only few members of the church, are upset about his decision to marry a black couple there.
Charles and Te’Andrea, who are now the Wilsons, allowed Pastor Weatherford to perform their wedding at the church near, First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs.
Even After the Turmoil The Couple were Able to have a Peaceful Marriage At Another Church
Pastor Weatherford is quoted :
“I didn’t want to have a controversy within the church, and I didn’t want a controversy to affect the wedding of Charles and Te’ Andrea. I wanted to make sure their wedding day was a special day,” said Weatherford.
He continued :
“I was prepared to go ahead and do the wedding here just like it was planned, and just like we agreed to,” said Weatherford. “I was just looking for an opportunity to be able to address a need within our congregation and at the same time minister to them.”
Even after the couple was able to get married in peace at a different location, surrounded by friends and love ones. They are still upset and applauded by the congregations intentions, and wants answers
Charles stated –
“I blame the First Baptist Church of Crystal Springs, I blame those members who knew and call themselves Christians and didn’t stand up,”.
I am more disappointed with Pastor Weatherford. How is it just a few members of the church caused such a problem, that he had to approach the Wilsons to address the ignorance. As a man of God, the Pastor should have never approached the Wilsons with such disrespectful, absurd, degrading information. He should have ignored the ignorance and went on with the wedding as planned. Weatherford as a man of God should have, asked the “Few” members to leave his church, because lovers of God would never stand for this.

I Don’t GO Where I’m NOT Wanted… Get The Pix
Really??? In 2012?? OMG, people make me sick from their hatred!! It’s the Human race, not the separate colors of race…SMH at small minded people!
If racism were to end, the world would probably come to an end because that would be the biggest miracle ever. This is nonsense no matter what culture is discriminated against
We always want to eat at their table.. Sad that they were denied but go where you are accepted..
It’s a shame that we still have this racial divide going on…………especially in the church, when the bible clearly details that we all were made of dirt………….with all of this going on who can really say that they are going to heaven?
Why not just go to a black church. There’s at least one on every other corner. No big deal. Choose wisely where you decide to spend your money and time.
They don’t marry black couples there but they take black tithes happily
OPEN DISCUSSION: How do you attend a church over and over again and not realize that they don't like your black azz?
Very good question!

Smh bet they didnt have problem taking their offerings !!!!
Is 2012 & wE still dealing w/ this S*it ? Unbelievable !
MAYBE They didn`t know they were black until the church showed them better than they could tell them. Some black folks wouldnt realize they were at a klan meeting.
There about to be featured on CNN right now
What??????
Nothing new why are you shocked lol…
I'm sure the pastor doesn't know much about God's word.
Sad. Makes me wonder about the preacher. I feel the couple is blessd, who would want to join their lives together in a church that judges by color. Not in my Bible.
