On Wednesday May 25th, 2011  Oprah walked away.  As the last minutes of what would be the final day of the Oprah Winfrey talk show drew to an end, Winfrey said that its close was “all sweet and no bitter” and addressed her audience for the final time:

“I thank you for tuning in with your mothers and sisters and daughters, your partners–gay and otherwise–your friends, and all the husbands who got coaxed into watching Oprah. And I thank you for being as much of a sweet inspiration to me as I’ve tried to be for you. I won’t say goodbye, I’ll just say, until we meet again. To God be the glory.”

She hugged and kissed her longtime partner Stedman Graham and shook hands with audience members before walking through the halls of Harpo Studios in Chicago, hugging and crying with her staff. She shouted, “We did it!” The audience gave her a standing ovation.

She humbly bowed out to give a new generation of talk show hosts a chance at the number one spot.  O, packed her bags and prepared to start the next chapter of her life.

What was Oprah’s next chapter about? Who knows? It was supposed to be about things that were important to you. Topics that were relevant to your everyday life.  But even Mama O with all of her influence could not get her very same fans to  tune into her new network..  Mainly because Oprah’s presence was not there. Oprah sat down and did not like the fact that her ratings were not high. So she decided to start interviewing pop culture stars..  Oprah sat down with The Kardashians and Curtis Jackson (50 Cent), 2 people you thought you’d never see on her show.

You see Oprah did not feel as though pop stars and reality stars were relevant to her or her audience. But things have changed. Pop culture has permeated itself into everyones life.  Oprah’s ratings are now  on the rise thanks to these interviews.  Her display of refusal to succumb to plummeting ratings and turning her talk show around is truly awe inspiring.

A few things you can learn from Oprah

1. 1. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Stick with what works.
2. 2. At the same time always be revolving. Things change over time one must keep up with the present.
3. 3. Sometimes you gotta give the people what they want.
4. 4. You are what you are (Oprah is a talk show Queen)

Oprah is such an amazing woman. I don’t understand how people don’t like her..  Then again I’m the same person who doesn’t understand how people don’t like Beyonce.

After such an amazing feat at only sixteen-years-old Gabby quickly became the victim of internet bullies talking badly about her hair.   One can imagine if talking about her hair at such a magical time was the focus of people from her own race that Gabby’s journey to Olympic gold had to be filled with even more bullying.

During her sit down interview in her backyard with the beloved Oprah Winfrey, Gab’s revealed that she was bullied as a child by her own team mates.

Gabrielle goes on to say that she was made to feel different.  Of course she knew she was the only black kid on the squad but they had to let her know it.. She felt isolated.

As she sat on the couch with Oprah she brought back memories of good times. Moments when she laughed and experienced joy and other times when things were not so good. Like when her relationship with Chris Brown exploded in front of the world.

During the interview, Rihanna also spoke on her beloved family in the Barbados and buying her mom a home.

Excerpt from the interview …

“We love each other and we probably always will, and that’s not anything that we’re going to try to change,” Rihanna told Oprah, and explained that whenever she sees Chris, “it’s awkward because I still love him … my stomach drops and I have to maintain this poker face and not let it get to the outer part of me. I have to maintain that and suppress it.”

“I think he was the love of my life,” Ri-Ri shared. “He was my first love and I see that he loved me the same way … I truly love him — the main thing for me is he’s at peace. I’m not at peace if he’s not happy or he’s still lonely. I care. It actually matters that he finds that peace.”

“All kinds of emotions started happening after that,” she said. “All kinds of things started making sense. I thought I hated Chris and I realized it was love that was tarnished. It looked like hate because it was ugly, it was angry, it was inflamed, it was tainted and I realized that what it was is, I have to forgive him, because I cared about him still. And the minute I let go of that, I started living again.”

As of lately O has sat down with star after relevent star on her new “Oprah’s Next Chapter” white couch..  The show is going through major changes after experiencing low viewership.  Mama O has is rolling her sleeves up and getting down to the grit to save her beloved new Network.  Instead of the stars coming to her like they used to do on the Oprah Winfrey show O is going to them wherever they may be in the world..  She even gave Letoya Jackson her OWN show. Viewership is now up by 25% because of Oprah’s diligence and dedication. 

In June we watched Miss Winfrey sit down with rapper 50 Cent (who named his dog Oprah) on his grandmothers couch in Queens.  In July Oprah chopped it up with the Kardashian family.  Just last week O, jetted off to the islands  for a candid interview with mega-star Rihanna in her homeland of Barbados.

Although Oprah anticipated meeting bad azz, thugum Ri-Ri with a bottle of Corona beer in her hand, O instead was presented with the sweet, emotional, vulnerable Robyn Fenty who attempts to shy away from the pedestal of fame.  The Rihanna that her fans the Rihanna Navy has come to love. 

I went there with my own ideas about who she was. I thought she was gonna be kind of a badass, kind of a hard-edged, rocker pop woman. Nothing could have been further from the truth. This is who she was for me and my cameras. She was 100 percent herself. She was thoughtful. She was very emotional. She was vulnerable. She pushes the edge…I came away really getting a great sense of who she was.

This is how you know who someone is. How people react to them. When we went back to the neighborhood, this reaction surprised me because it wasn’t like a big superstar megastar popstar had arrived in the neighborhood. (For some reason O was surprised that Rihanna could even drive.)  But it was just as if she had gone to the grocery store and came back. It was great to see.

During the interview an often lonely Rihanna told Oprah “I’m afraid of the pedestal that comes with fame.” After the interview airs perhaps viewers will get a greater understanding and gain a level of respect for Rihanna, the bad girl and rock-star who unnoticeably has become the most down to earth rock star in the world.

Oprah Broke News about Her Interview with Rihanna Last Month to  Fans on Twitter

 Oprah has been trying to get an interview with Rihanna, since news broke out about the fight with her and Chris, when Oprah still had her daytime show “The Oprah Winfrey Show”.

Reports claims that Rihanna was even supposed to perform at Oprah’s finale of the show, but it never happen.  Rumors suggested that Rihanna wasn’t to  happy about how Oprah portrayed Chris Brown, after the attack ..Looks like RiRi had a change of heart, and did an interview with Oprah after all.

Oprah tweeted pictures of herself alone with Rihanna in Barbados. Winfrey recently took the trip to do an interview with Rihanna, which is scheduled to appear on the OWN network August 19.

Oprah will be playing Ivan E. Allen, the wife of  Eugene Allen, a White House Butler who served eight Presidents. Forest Whitaker will play the role of Eugene. People are already creating  “Oscar” buzz about the upcoming film. 50 Cent Finally Gets To Meet Oprah Winfrey

Curtis (50 Cent) Jackson had one of his biggest dreams come true last night when he sat on the couch to talk to a woman who repeatedly denounced the use of the N-word and the degradation of women in hip-hop as a whole in addition to refusing to interview rappers on her famous talk show..

50 gave Oprah a warm hug when she knocked on his grandparents’ door to conduct their candid one-on-one interview, during which they discussed the rapper’s difficult childhood, respect for his grandmother and goal to feed 1 billion starving people through his Street King movement.

“This is a milestone for me, just being in your presence and on the show,” 50 said.

50  voiced his issues with Oprah Winfrey in the past and during his interview with the media giant last evening, he got the opportunity to tell her all about them. The ‘P.I.M.P’ rapper guested on ‘Oprah’s Next Chapter’  Sunday evening.  He gave Oprah an explantion for naming his dog after her.

“I heard you had a bitch named Oprah, that’s what I heard,” Winfrey said, confronting the rapper in an awkward but endearing situation.

“I love you,” 50 responded sheepishly, also joking that he has a cat named Gayle, just like Winfrey’s best friend, Gayle King.

In addition to the awkward moments where 50 Cent and Oprah discussed their temporary feud, the former also talked about the murder of his mother; a topic that moved him to tears. Moreover, he shared his mantras for success and his passion to achieve greatness.

During the sit-down, Oprah saw a different side of the MC that she couldn’t get by listening to his music alone. 50 Cent described the difference between his rap persona and Curtis Jackson.

“I’ve always had to be two people,” he said. “I’ve had to be my grandmother’s baby in the house and be more like what people perceive 50 Cent as outside. I’m not even allowed to curse around her.”

The 58-year-old media proprietor Oprah Winfrey had a huge vision and big dreams when she decided to end her famous day time talk show in pursuit of starting her own cable television network.  

No one knew the network would fail due to O’s solidified status in the tv world..  However OWN has proved that everything isn’t easy as it looks. O’s network suffers super low numbers and the loss in profits are really starting to dip into the co owners pockets.  

According to the National Enquirer (taking out grain of salt right now) the low ratings have caused O’s co-owners at the Discovery Channel to question Oprah’s decision making authority. As a result Oprah Winfrey has been booted from her beloved OWN Network .

The National Enquirer says:

In a humiliating power coup, OPRAH WINFREY has been stripped of executive powers at her struggling OWN network and now pals fear the worst is yet to come!

The media mogul was reduced to tears when her chief financial backer decided to curtail her control over the network she had worked her fingers to the bone to launch, say sources.

While Oprah retains her title of CEO, it’s in name only, revealed the insider.

“They now realize that she was too inexperienced to run the net¬work,” said the insider. “So she was stripped of her power. She’s no longer in a position to make executive decisions or hire staff without consulting top Discovery executives first.”

“Her closest friends, including BFF Gayle King, are rallying to give her support during what she’s calling ‘one of the lowest points’ of her life. But Oprah’s emotional condition continues to deteriorate.

While the Enquirer’s reports remain unconfirmed by Winfrey or the network, OWN has been promoting the upcoming guests of Winfrey’s show, “Oprah’s Next Chapter.” The 14-year-old daughter of late singer Michael Jackson is slated to appear on the show where she reveals the difficulties of dealing with her father’s death.

“It never gets easier,” Paris Jackson tells Winfrey about her father’s death in a preview of the episode.

Winfrey also interviewed rapper Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson for the show, years after he criticized her impact on the black community.

“I think she caters to older white women,” Jackson told The Associated Press in 2006. “Oprah’s audience is my audience’s parents. So, I could care less about Oprah or her show.”

However, Winfrey and the rapping entrepreneur will reportedly clear up feuding rumors in their interview that was conducted at the home of Jackson’s grandmother. The episode featuring Paris and 50 cent will air Sunday on the Oprah Winfrey Network.

The day has finally come when 58-year-old Oprah Winfrey will finally walk down the aisle.

O has offered her longtime boyfriend Stedman Graham, a $100 million prenuptial agreement to accept her hand in marriage. However Oprah is not getting married for love.  O previously stated that if she and Stedman were married they would be divorced by now.

Except now she has a fledgling network so she decided to get married.. 

According to the National Enquirer (yeah I know) insiders insist she’s “pulling a Kardashian,” a reference to Kim Kardashian‘s allegedly staged wedding to NBA star Kris Humphries back in 2011.  Kim’s marriage lasted a mere 72-days.

Everyone remembers the famous, character Oprah played in  “The Color Purple” Sophia, which garnered an Oscar nomination for the talk show queen.

Since then Oprah has only acted in few roles, due the  hectic schedule  she had with her talk show “The Oprah Winfrey Show”.

The last movie Oprah acted in was the 1998 movie ‘Beloved” which she produced. Oprah made it no secret that one of her interests was to be on the big screen again.  Her desire to due so played a big role in her decision to end her  famous talk show, When O created “Own” network she was hoping it would allow her time to do more of the things she wanted to do.  While the network has still taken most of Oprah’s time it has allowed her some space to pursue other endeavors including her acting.

Forest Whitaker, will play  Eugene Allen, Oprah will play his wife

Lee Daniels, the Oscar nominated directed of “Precious” confirmed to USA today that Oprah will star in a big role in his new movie “The Butler.” The movie will be based on a true story of a man named Eugene Allen, who served many decades as a butler in the White House.  Allen died on March 31, 2010 due to renal failure, at the age of 90. Forest Whitaker will act as Eugene and Oprah will play his wife. Daniels quoted to USA Today:

 ”It’s a true story of a man (Eugene Allen) who served several decades in the White House,” says Daniels. “Forest (Whitaker) plays the butler who serves many presidents and Oprah plays his wife.” Oprah, he adds, “was looking for something and we’re friendly and we were just trying to figure out the right thing.”

Daniels was asked, how does one prepare to direct Oprah?

“I don’t know. Quietly,” But, “she’s not producing this, she’s an actor on this one,” he Laughs

Daniels states he specifically wrote the role for Oprah. Jane Fonda is also slated to appear in the movie as Nancy Reagan.  Eugene became very close to the Reagan’s during their time at the White House, no mention of who will  play Nancy’s  husband, former President Ronald Reagan at this time. The movie is schedule to starting filming in July in New Orleans.

The Highest Paid Movie Producer in Hollywood Tyler Perry understands that love is shown with money.   He also went out of his way to show Oprah Winfrey that she isn’t the only one super balling around this bish!

Last summer Perry pulled up for a lunch with the women in a “gorgeous Bentley,” GAYLE King told Vanity Fair magazine. Oprah admired it, King said, “so he sent her the same exact car.”

Gayle called Tyler to thank him for giving Oprah such an amazing gift, seeing as to how O is so rich that nobody really lavishes gifts on her. 

“I called Tyler and told him how amazing that was because nobody ever does anything like that for her, on such a grand scale,” King said. “And so, the next day when I got home, there was a Bentley in my driveway!”

Back in 04 Winfrey made tv magic history when she gave her  entire studio audience spanking-new Pontiac G6s — 276 cars valued at over $7 million. “You get a car! You get a car! You get a car!” she shouted, jumping up and down. “Everybody gets a car!’’

Cheers to the Good Life!  Someone give me Tyler’s number so I can call and tell him how nice it was of him to gift those two sista’s with such a luxurious vehicle.

Winfrey said to Calloway about the Martin shooting, “It is a tragedy and it is a shame that we’re sitting here 33 days later and there hasn’t been an arrest, or questioning of what actually happened. It’s a tragedy and it is a shame and we all know it.”

The suspect, George Zimmerman, shot the teenager last month while conducting a routine neighborhood watch patrol in Florida. Zimmerman, who has not been arrested, claims he killed the youth in self-defense.

Oprah told Calloway that Zimmerman is on the top of her interview list. “Mr. Zimmerman… I would love to talk to him.”

Winfrey also commented on the nationwide outcry over the shooting. “I saw some people on Twitter saying nothing has changed, the same thing’s going on. Lots has changed and you know why? Because black people, white people, brown people, yellow people all over this country and all over the world are saying the same thing… it’s a tragedy and it’s a shame and justice needs to be served.”

In her first interview since the cancellation of Rosie O’Donnell’s OWN talk show, Oprah revealed she personally delivered the news to Rosie. Winfrey explained, “I called [Rosie] and said ‘We’re not going to be able to go forward’… we both knew. She is a class act, one thousand per cent.”

Winfrey also broke news to “Extra” about her exclusive Bobbi Kristina interview, revealing for the first time that it almost didn’t happen. “I was on the plane leaving New York… the producer says we can’t find Bobbi Kristina… and we don’t know if she’s going to do an interview. And I said, ‘By the time I land I’m hoping you would have found her.’”

Once Oprah arrived to the home of Pat Houston, Bobbi Kristina had re-emerged. Winfrey said, “When I saw her, the reason I didn’t sit down [with Bobbi Kristina] is because I was told that she didn’t really want to sit down, so I just used that moment.”

Last night Oprah Winfrey retook her spot on the talk show Throne when ratings soared as the world tuned in to watch Bobbi’s Kristina’s interview on O’s OWN tv network. While Bobbi Kristina bravely spoke on her mothers passing and only being able to recognize the impact of her mother’s voice until after she was gone, Whitney’s sister in law Pat Houston revealed that Whitney’s death was undoubtedly a long time coming. Although things in Whitney’s life were changing “The handwriting was on the wall” said Pat.  Whitney chased a dream and looked for love in all of the wrong places.

On if it seems real to her that she’s gone
Sometimes, no. It’s so surreal that I still walk in the house, ‘Mom?’ … But I’ve accepted it.

On her last day with her mom
The very last day. It was so early in the morning. I went to go get her. I said, ‘Mom, Will you just Come lay down with me.’ She stayed with me all night and all day, she was just rubbing my head and holding me. I slept in her arms. All day, all night long.

On if it’s anything she would like the world to know
That she literally is an angel. I saw her hurt. I saw her cry. We held each other through that. They don’t know who she was. Everything people are saying about her – all that negativity, it’s garbage. That’s not my mother. …  That’s not who she is. In reality, I know who she was. Her family knows who she was.

On if she was an obedient child
I was a little rebellious but when it came down to it, I ran to mom.

Fondest Memory.
On tour, seeing her smile, seeing her happy. Seeing her on stage being Whitney Houston. Being Who she is.

On when she realized her mom was THE Whitney Houston
I just saw her as mom. The first time I saw her as a worldwide icon was when we went on tour. And the funeral. …  I was like WOW, This woman made an impact not only on a few people. She made an impact on the world.

You just got that at the funeral? 
Yes, that’s when it hit me.

On People Not Being There For Whitney when she was alive
Oh when she was gone you want to come around saying sorry, but where were you when she was here when she was hurt, when she needed someone.

On if Whitney was Taking Drugs right before her death.
When you are recording and have fittings and a meeting with Clive and when you have to go in to see your throat doctor, Are you kidding??/ HIGH! Absolutely not, she would be too paranoid to do that.

Pat on how Bobbi Kristina is doing now
Bobbi Kristina “is taking it one day at a time. She’s staying between homes. … I see her every single day. Trying to give her some time. She’s grieving. She lost her mother. You have to give her some time to make adjustments.

On if she thinks Bobby Brown was the blame for introducing the Whitney to drugs
I don’t think that’s true. There was always so much outside interference, making it difficult for them to have a good relationship. You’re talking about two people who started out in the business very, very young.

On if she tried to get her help for the drugs
Without a doubt. In 2003, 2004, I had spoken to Bobby’s mother and other family members to intervene. We were always trying, but the choice was always theirs, and hers.

Did you think drugs would end up taking her?
The handwriting was kind of on the wall. I would be kidding myself to say otherwise.

On Whitney’s lifestyle leading up to her death
I saw her chasing a dream. Looking for love in all the young places.

On why she decided to go with Whitney to the nightclub (Tru Hollywood)
I was concerned. I knew she wanted to have a good time. I wanted to make sure she was going to be OK.

On what happened that night at Tru Hollywood and if rumors are true that Whitney got into a fight with X-Factor’s Stacy Francis (Stacy told a tabloid that Whitney confronted her after she spoke to Ray J):
There have been lots of talk of a confrontation that she had. Well, there was, kind of. There were words back and forth between [Whitney] and a young lady I believe was on ‘The X Factor.’ She comes over, and she says hello, but you keep seeing her. Every corner that we go to, here she comes. Didn’t know her. She didn’t know her from Adam.

I don’t know what the initial conversation was. I just know that it didn’t feel right … I saw expressions. I saw tears … from the young lady. I said, ‘It’s time to go.’ [Whitney] did not want to leave. I said, ‘No.’

I didn’t hear the words [of the argument]. There was no physical fighting. I would never let that happen. And we headed out that door [....]I don’t know her, and I don’t have anything negative at all to say about her. I’m just saying what I saw. And she made herself present everywhere we were.

On the day Whitney died
I was working in my room and decided I needed to go pick up something pertaining to the party. Mary (Whitney’s assistant) checked on her before we left. She’d been asking for me all morning. … She called my phone twice. She hadn’t seen my face. Usually I go up and see her and that was one day I didn’t. [I headed down the hallway] and I hear screams. I kept walking very slow. A woman opened her door and said, ‘Is everything all right?’ I said ‘Dial 911.’

I knew something was wrong. I didn’t know what. I was just numb. I walked as I got closer and I turn the corner, Mary’s at the door and she’s screaming, ‘Oh my god.’ I told her to stop. ‘Calm down, please. I saw my brother, Ray (security guard), trying to revive her to the point of exhaustion. The paramedics were coming in at that point. I said, ‘Ray, let it go.’” … He was so out of breath. I felt so badly for him. Then I saw her. She had a peaceful look on her face. She had a peaceful look.

I know they had to pull her out of (the tub). [The Paramedics asked me to leave]. I just couldn’t do it. I said, ‘Don’t touch me, please.’ I couldn’t leave her. I could not leave her. I saw them cover her up and I knew that was it. I knew that that was it. Looking at her and watching that, I still could not believe it. I could not believe it. [Bobbi Kristina was down the hall]. I just had to keep my calm. One of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do, but I had to do it.”

This was a tough interview to do but Oprah did a good job.  It’s good to see Bobbi Kristina holding up and doing well after such a great lost and tragic event in her life.  I am curious to hear her sing.   Also curious as to who Pat was referring to when she said Whitney was chasing love in all the wrong place..  It wouldn’t be too far fetched to say that it was for the love of Ray J.
