HAIR SUIT: BARCLAYS CENTER SECURITY GUARD (AND CANCER SURVIVOR) FIRED FOR NOT “TAMING” HER AFRO
Tiffany Bryan, 27 was employed at the Barclay’s Center, in New York as a security guard before being fired because she wouldn’t “tame” her big afro.
What’s odd in this case if that Tiffany, a black woman, was employed in a building that a black man, Jay Z built and the employees who gave her a hard time about her afro were other black women….
Now she’s suing the Barclays security team for $900,000. The Barclay’s center, owned by AEG Worldwide is named at the company that is being sued. According to Ms. Bryan employees of the security team at the Barclay sports arena often made fun of her for not wearing her hair in a manner that would be more appealing to them.
“It was ridiculous,” Bryan, currently a mail carrier, told The New York Post. “I couldn’t understand what they had a problem with. I would get compliments all the time from people at events at Barclays.”
That was only the beginning of the harassment.
