Police fatally shoot 6-year-old boy on Martin Luther King Dr. in pursuit of his father in car

Marksville, Louisiana – A 6-year-old is dead in the wake of a shooting  involving city marshals, according to Louisiana state police.

It happened about on Tuesday, Nov. 3 around 9:30 p.m. at the intersection of on Martin Luther King Drive and Taensas Street.

The child, Jeremy David Mardis, a passenger in the vehicle and a first grader at Lafarge Elementary, was fatally shot. His father, who was driving, Chris Few, is listed in critical condition.

Personnel from the investigative arm of state police’s Alexandria field office are investigating at the request of the Marksville Police Department.
