More than $26,000 was donated to assist with funeral costs within a day — with more pledges coming.
An online fundraiser for the funeral expenses of Rosemarie Junor hit its $25,000 target in a day—and the donations keep coming.
Miguel Junor, Rosemarie’s older brother, mourned the loss of his younger sister in the petition. Rosemarie Junor died in hospital shortly after being stabbed at a Shoppers Drug Mart outlet located in the PATH on Dec. 11.
“My family is heartbroken at the thought of continuing in this life without our beautiful Rosemarie,” he wrote. “We are currently making funeral arrangements (and) any donation would (be) greatly appreciated to contribute towards her funeral.” The donations would be needed by the family on Monday.
389 donors pitched in $26,396 as of Saturday at noon and more than $29,000 by early Sunday — including a $1,000 donation by Shoppers Drug Mart. The largest donation was $1,800, given by a Nalini Persaud.
