Malachi Jenkins, a former crip, and Roberto Smith, a former blood, from Compton buried the hatchet to create a catering company called Trap Kitchen.

Both men grew tired of the lifestyle that comes with being a gang member. They wanted something different.  Jenkins and Smith met through a mutual friend and became fast friends.

Vibe magazine reports that Jenkins enrolled in the famed culinary school Le Cordon Bleu, and from there things began to change.

Upon finishing his courses, Jenkins, who also goes by the name Chef Spanky, began cooking meals and posting the finishing product on Instagram.
