In Solon, Ohio, on Saturday morning, Deborah Pearl, a 53-year-old African-American mother, was on her way to work. As she was driving her Ford Taurus, Matthew Ryan Desha, a 29-year-old white man, ran a red light at an intersection and hit Pearl’s car with his jeep.
The collision caused Desha’s jeep to flip over several times and it pushed Pearl’s car into the intersection. Even though what happened was clearly Desha’s fault, he reacted like a ticking time bomb ready to explode.
Both Pearl and Desha exited their vehicles except he grabbed his 5.56-millimeter high powered assault rifle. While Pearl escaped the accident unscathed, she feared for her life as she put her hands up.
However, that didn’t seem to matter to Desha.
